Your retina may deliver more secrets than you previously thought.

A team from Finland recently demonstrated that diseases of the central nervous system, including Alzheimer’s disease, also translated into pathological changes in the retina of mice. Surprisingly, these changes could be detected earlier than actual brain changes in these animals.

The study suggests that eye examination could possibly be used as a noninvasive strategy to screen for human brain diseases.
